The Mulligans So Far...
Somewhere along the way, I really forked up the numbering of the Mulligan Project, so I'm going to have to go back and edit all those posts, but first, I want to do a round up of all of them so far / a reminder of what the project is about/for.
So as detailed in this post I have these cute little hanging polaroid things from Chez Moi. I have one for each of the now 7 mesh heads* I own, and each one has 25 photo slots that I want to fill. The original idea (when I only had like, 4 heads) was to re-create all my old Look of the Day posts, but I'm pretty sure I don't have 175 of those to re-do. I do have about 100 posts with photos that I can recreate, and I may be able to pull some photos from my old avatar's inventory. Or maybe toward the end of the project I'll get extra creative and recreate someone else's photos or something.
Pictured below, you can see the Chez Moi hanging pictures (featuring three photos of Raven). The heart in the middle is from Apple Fall, and I haven't counted how many slots it has, but I think I want to fill it with photos that heavily feature my favorite color, purple. The pin board you see here is from Status Inc, and I was using it to show the most recent photo of each head, but because I got two new free heads this Christmas, I'm currently using this old string of nine photos from Construct. I'd really like to find a different pin board with at least 7 slots though, if anyone can point me in the direction of one!

Let's Talk About Goals - SL Edition + Mulligan #8
I recently made a post like this on my Patreon about my podcast, and decided that since I've been trapped in the house for a week after this big snow storm, I'll do a Second Life specific version of that post. And since there are now 175 pictures to take for the project and I don't think I have 175 pictures to recreate, I'm including new pictures in the total. Style credits at the bottom of the post!
- Blogging -
- I definitely want to continue, and increase the frequency of posts in general, but especially within my Mulligan Project (I also got two new free heads this year... and added them to the project because I have a problem, I guess)
- I want to either continue or start over with that Off the Rails project I had started a million years ago.
- Streaming / Videos
- When I finally get the two remaining parts I need for my desktop and can run multiple things at once, I really want to start streaming SL stuff / making youtube videos. I love finding and sharing free and cheap stuff I've found but setting up and taking pictures for that is super time consuming, and videos would be both easier and more engaging
- I also want to make videos exploring different locations, and talking to people about SL things. . There are so many different corners of the grid that I know nothing about despite being in this world for so long and I'd love to learn more about them!
- Also, one of my favorite things is seeing the way people decorate in SL and I definitely want to make a video series snooping around people's homes (with their permission, of course!) I'm taking suggestions for series titles, haha.
- Specific Topics/Projects:
- In addition to the Mulligans and Off the Rails, there are a few specific things I'd like to explore.
- Zooby babies are interactive and can level up now? Color me intrigued. I hear they also do pets now?
- I'm curious to try my hand at breedables. Maybe make myself a little farm.
- I'd like to try out one of those systems that makes SL more like a sims game where you have to take care of your avatar. Back when I was involved in some RP communities there were people that used them and it was intriguing.
- One day I want to own a sim. I have had grand plans for ages about what it would be for (it would be a public/community place,) and how it would look and one day I am going to make it happen. But sim ownership can get pricey and that's kind of a long way off. For now I'm just having a blast decorating on a sim my friend owns!
- I have ideas for some very silly and simple products to sell in world/on MP, but I am intimidated by the learning curve of blender and photoshop, and I can't afford them any time soon anyway. Ideally, I'd love to link up with someone who is an experienced creator that I can learn from and split the pennies with. All the ideas so far would be super easy for someone who already creates regularly. I could probably try to do the photoshop part if I can get my hands on a free software that does the same thing.
- I want to organize / run a hunt. I want to hide the prizes and write the clues and organize the creators. So if anyone owns a store and wants to organize a hunt, I'll do it for basically nothing! My favorite hunts are the ones where the object is free, but it's actually challenging to find them.

Christmas Decor Tour 2025
I didn't get the full house and landscaping decorated like I'd planned, because I didn't start early enough and I got burned out, but I wanted to share what I did accomplish. I was using the East Ives house from ROOST, because I've had it for such a long time, but I've never had the Land Impact budget to really stuff it full of decor and clutter the way I've come to like now, so this was such an exciting project, even if I didn't quite finish it. I think I'm going to re-attempt this next year (and start much earlier because I just did not work as quickly as I thought I would) which I suppose technically qualifies it for the Mulligan project?
One of the things I love about the Holiday Season in Second Life is how much of the Christmas decor I have that I paid nothing for because it was a gift at a Shop & Hop, advent calendar, group gift, or hunt, or I paid very little for as part of weekend sales like Fifty Linden Fridays. Weekend sales are my primary source for decor anyway, which had led to my having a pretty eclectic collection of things in my inventory. I hope that's visible in this tour.
Oh wow, what's that? Mk is starting another project?
Okay, more like restarting and slightly modifying.
So a while back, I made this post where I mentioned these frames I have from Moss n Mink and how I wanted to fill them with photos using the heads I was no longer using but never got many photos of. On the left here is when I wore my first mesh head, Catwa's Helena and the right is when I upgraded to a Bento mesh head, Sophia, also from Catwa. But after that I upgraded again to the HDPRO head Majer (still Catwa), but I only took one or two photos with her before Catwa rocked grid by dropping that free Queenie head.
These days I'm wearing the Raven head that LeLutka gave out for free two Christmases ago. (I believe they gave out another free head last year, but I was barely on SL around that time and totally missed it.) This means I have a whopping 4 mesh heads I've barely taken any photos with. I've also gotten a little bit better at taking photos in SL than I was when I first started, so I kind of want the chance to redo some of the photos I think I could have done a bit better with.
But! If you saw my house tour post, you may have noticed these hanging polaroids from Chez Moi. They hold 25 photos as opposed to the 12 from the other frames, and for some reason 25 feels like a better goal. Don't ask me why, I don't know. So, 4 heads times 25 pictures... that's a simple 100 photos I need to take. It will be slightly easier because one change I'm going to make is sticking more or less to the same skins and shapes for each head so it will be a much simple OotD thing than I had been making it. What can I say, sometimes you get caught up in weekend sales and think you really need a new skin every other day.
I'm really exited to recreate some of my earliest photos, and maybe switch up which version of me wears the older outfits just for funsies. I have worn the Maitreya Lara body this whole time until the LaraX came out, so that will be easy for all the clothes. I did document *most* of the outfits in OotD posts, but I have a few I took that I never ended up blogging, so those might be a real adventure to try and reassemble. I'm thinking of one specific picture I took at a New Year's party? Birthday party? thrown by Alicia before I learned about changing photo settings and is such a pixelated potato ass photo. Finding that dress again is going to be HARD, but I don't *think* I deleted it in The Great Purge. If so, it probably won't be that hard to replace because it was for sure made from a full perm template because I know at one point I had the same one in different patterns from half a dozen different stores.
In fact, it was Alicia's recent SL story times on facebook that inspired me to restart this silly project. Maybe I'll get really wild and try to recreate some pre-mesh looks from memory and the small handful of pictures I have... 🤣
